Raise the B.A.R.

"For as the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without works is dead also."
James 2:26

Only 2 more posts after this one, to complete this one year project.
Isn't it very exciting to look back at all the things that God taught you in 2012?

Here's an interesting formula that ties into this passage.

Belief + Action = Results

Raise the B.A.R. in 2013, for God's glory. :)

So many people want to do big and great things, but here's what you need to understand first...
"Before you're great at anything, you gotta be good.
Before you're good at anything, you gotta be bad.
Before you're bad at anything, you gotta start.
So get started immediately!"

Something that I'm learning is this:

You can a big goal setter,
and have faith that it CAN happen,
but if you don't ever get started
why do you even set it at all?

And if you don't plan to finish
then whey do you start at all?

Did you know that a lot of people OVER-ESTIMATE what they can do in a few days or weeks,
But they UNDER-ESTIMATE what they can do in a year?

I believe God is challenging me to draw closer to Him in a new way in 2013.
I believe He's asking me:

"Landon,
Are you willing to sacrifice....
Being currently 'good' at doing what's good,
For temporarily being 'bad' at doing what's best?"

That's what I'm praying for, the willingness to get our of my comfort zone,
and do the BEST things for God's glory.

CHALLENGE:
Write out 20 - 50 Accomplishments/Achievements of 2012.
People tend to think about all the things they DIDN'T accomplish, and all the things they WISH (covet) had/hadn't happened.
It's been helpful to me, because it causes you to think about what you did right, and the positive things you did.
More importantly it's biblical to think on things of virtue and praise. (Phil 4:8)
Also, I urge you to include some Lessons, Character Qualities, or Skills that the Lord taught you in there, unless you'd like to make a separate list.

God bless you all in 2013,
Your brother in Christ,
Landon Thompson

Thanks Landon for the encouragement and challenge! I can think of a few things right now that I would like to do/get better at but haven't stepped forward. Thanks for the "nudge" to get started.
